Yup, here's another one

I've visited before, but hadn't joined till today, just a few minutes ago, in fact. I'm going to have to remember to bookmark the forums, because I want to get back here from time to time.

Today I did my second successful conversion from something else to epub. No Mobi conversions so far, but I'm just getting started on all of this. What happened is this: I was having a decent discussion with my sister about this and that, and she pointed out to me that there were these things called ebook devices. It tickled her because in her neck of the world she could borrow these books by clicking on them and they would be sent from the public library to her over the air. Well, in Northern California the price of gasoline is hitting five dollars now, for the low grade stuff, so getting something as important as a book sent to you via some kind of wifi sounded cool to me.

We went on a virtual shopping spree, looking at the different devices, and prices, and eventually I got a tablet and I don't know what she got.

The tablet was soon joined by a Kindle for my spouse, and finally by a nook for me. Then it occurred to me that it would be interesting to write for one of these things. I've always written, usually for magazines, but occasionally as what we used to call a content provider, and even as a ghost. That and singin' the blues are what I like doing. The question was how could I get my writing onto one of those little devices.

That's what got me here.
