I've been trying out the apps Penultimate, Notes Plus and Noteshelf with a Griffin pen now. Overall, I think Noteshelf is the nicest. I like the functionality in Notes Plus where you can select and rearrange text, and the keyboard is great, but the handwriting didn't look so well, even after smoothing. And this might sound odd, but my handwriting simply seems to flow better in Noteshelf. I write with a hasty, loopy longhand, which seems to be difficult for handwriting apps to pick up. The zoom function is not bad once you get used to it - but that was much the same in Notes Plus and Noteshelf.

And I haven't forgotten Penultimate. The line looks great while writing, but the end result somehow is not quite as readable as Noteshelf. The other two apps also had "wrist protection", which allows you to rest your hand on the screen.

All in all I'm quite excited by the hand writing apps. I'll try to use it for note taking at work. I'm working on clearing my desk of paper, and my small notes is really the only serious paper use I have left.
