Yes, it was CM7. It was all sd card based so removing the card left an un-modified NC.
My main problem with the NC was that it would not properly display epub books that had been converted from the fb2 format and had Cyrillic fonts. The 1.1 version displayed only ? marks and the 1.2 version displayed only squares. Of course the soft-rooted NC supported readers like fb2Reader and Moon+ readers that did not have that problem. But the issue was the very small size of the icons, almost too small to see if you have bad eyes.
