As a bibliophile I have mixed feelings about e-readers. I love them, but I also love being surrounded by books. I love being able to carry a library without needing a chiropractor, but I also love the feel of a book in my hands, the crisp pages, the smell of the paper. Either way, I'm committed. I buy books both for my kindle and for my bookshelves, often the same title.
At any rate, I'm here to introduce myself, and I suppose by extension my writing. My name is Jon Goff, and I'm the author of the The Rune that Binds. Available on the
Kindle and the
Nook, in epub format.
I don't want this to be a post that's all about self promotion, but the fact is I'm a writer and I suppose it should be part of the introduction.
I have to admit that I've been around and participating in electronic books for some time. My first reader was the
Sony Data Discman, and I have had a reader in one form or another on my pocket pc, computer, and laptop for the last twenty years. I had the Sony reader for a while, but found it cumbersome to read one handed, and the buttons were placed in an awkward location.
I now have a Kindle and I'm going to be picking up a Nook soon. I'm excited that the technology has finally arrived to allow for the truly portable library.
That's all for now.
