I can't imagine reading the K3 without a case (I've always had it in my leather case), so I might not be able to relate to your gripes. In my case, it's actually more comfortable than reading a book. I rarely hit a button when I don't mean to. I love that I can keep the thing in the same position and not have to adjust it a bit as I would with a book as I turn a page.
