I am thrilled that you are having a great trip and admire your decision to go and enjoy yourself.

Iran is a country I would love to visit but it will not happen with the current regime or any regime that is similar to the current regime. I don't trust them and would be worried about someone deciding that it was time to piss off the US by arresting an American for spying.

It sound sparanoid but I travelled through the Soviet Union as a 15 and 17 year old and had KGB tails. They are awful but they were there. I saw people arrested for talking to me. I don't doubt that that type of thing could happen in Iran and I just don't want to deal with that.
