How about just that? Or, "Hey, ereaders can break easily depending on how you use them. The screens are fragile. A cover might be a good idea, and some people find that it makes them easier to hold and more comfortable to use."
Your advice, at the core, is good, but when you come across so strongly, it tends to be very off-putting. No one wants to feel like a monster for using a naked ereader (or using an ereader naked

).
Then there's the fact that you've consistently griped about Amazon, yet you seem to have this overwhelming need to protect the poor little Kindles. Is it one of those "don't blame the child for the sins of the parent" type of things? It could almost be endearing if you spin it the right way.
