Oh, I know that he's got "issues" with seeing naked Kindles in commercials (and probably with seeing Kindles in general). Nonetheless, the points being made are perfectly accurate and applicable to the OP's question: having a cover can make an e-reader more comfortable for some/many/most people to hold and using a cover offers a modicum of protection for an e-ink screen. Being a Sony fan boy really doesn't change things.
