I'm an iPad owner and I do use it for reading. I think it's a great e-reader. I had looked at a Nook prior to seeing an iPad but when I saw the iPad I could tell that I preferred reading on it. So, it may seem strange that I would vote for the iPod Touch as a second reader. As has been pointed, out the screen is the same size as the iPhone. I recently bought the Verizon iPhone. I thought it would make an acceptable backup for my iPad. But I have to say the retina screen is amazing. Yes, it is smaller but I have no trouble reading on it and I am at the age where I qualify for everyones senior discount. Don't get me wrong, when I'm at home I will always opt to read on the iPad but for on-the-go, the size of the iPhone/iPod Touch is very convenient.
