Uh, I may have missed this scanning through the thread, but has anyone used the word "backup" yet? There are lots of automatic backup systems floating around and a few on-line backup sites. If you're like OP, I'd strongly suggest getting one or two of them and READING THE USER MANUAL so you get all your 'stuff' backed up constantly.

Another suggestion for OP, print out your filenames in alphabetical order, cut them into single strips, tape the strips to index cards, put index cards into box. Maintain manually.
