I can't comment on technical books, but I have noticed that I'm receiving more properly formatted books lately. It seems as though some publishers are starting to realize that dumping in text and shooting out an ebook isn't enough to get good results.

Actually, I just remembered that a couple months ago I downloaded a sample of a Win 7 book and the formatting was excellent - none of the strange paragraph-blank page-image-blank page thing I've seen in the past. I no longer have the sample, though, and I get so many freebies it would take me forever to go through my Kindle page on Amazon to track down the name of the publisher.
