I certainly wouldn't want to do any sustained reading on a screen that small. It's all a matter of personal preference at the end of the day.

I had my iPod Touch before the Kindle. I didn't have problems reading on it, but I like reading on an e-ink screen better. In terms of reading, I'm mainly interested in being able to read knitting pattern charts (either PDFs or scans from pbooks and magazines).
How is the iPad for word processing? I have a macbook that I drag around with me and would love to have something a bit lighter.
