In 1908, while still in South Africa,
Gandhi wrote a series of articles in
Indian Opinion which he then published separately as
Hind Swaraj, or
Indian Home Rule, written in his native Gujarati. He then published his own English translation of it. The posted copy here is of the 1938 translation by Mahadev Desai and includes some interesting comments on the differences between these after an evolution of thirty years. Once again, I see that the copy I'm posting has numerous annoying typographical errors. I hope to one day correct and repost it.
