apps using up memory

I am considering adding the Pulse News app to my Color Nook, but I am concerned about the memory it might take up. I don't mean the app itself, but I mean about how much storage it will use up as time goes on and more and more feeds start to accumulate.

I am also wondering about this same issue with the built-in email app. I notice that when you delete an email, it goes to Trash. Trash seems to build up itself over time, and it almost seems that you have to go in and redelete stuff from Trash just to really get rid of it. It can be a real pain because you have to mark every damn item individually - there doesn't appear to be a "choose all" function.

Anyone know how to automate the deletion of Trash in the email app, and also anything about Pulse and memory?
