A novel of 1912.
(The second in The Litle Ottleys series, but can be read on its own.)
Edith Ottley needs all her wits in order to keep her irritable husband happy.
A memorable typo in the PG text: ‘He felt a little emu’. Corrected to ‘He felt a little ennui.’
Ada Leverson was a close friend of Oscar Wilde and, in places, her writings have a similar wit and sparkle. Her novels also reflect on the position of married women in Edwardian society.
