I use 0.7.59 so I can't see what you exactly mean but if I see the screen it doesn't answer my needs. Often I add a book and the author sort name is LN, FN. The author name is FN LN or something else, it doesn't matter. I would lik a button that copies the content of the author sort field to the author field. I.c., after a push on the button the authors name should be LN, FN and the author sort name should be LN, FN (like it was). I know I can achieve this by editing a number of books, but it would save me a lot of ctrl_c and ctrl_v if there was a button ...
It is there in the Metadata editor window. It is not Obvious.
Do a Long, Hold-it Click on the Copy Author button: presto-Menu
