By manual, I mean through the free.kindle.com email conversion, or converting on your pc with one of the easily available tools (like Calibre or Mobipocket Creator).

When you email to free.kindle.com, and don't have wi-fi, you get a link to a file in your email, that you can download and copy to the Kindle via USB.
