And you can still drive North-East-West-South of Europe (as a part of the world) without having to "jump" between any continent.
Starting in Norway at Nordkapp and ending in Tarifa in Spain
(Norway(Nordkapp)-Finland-Russia-Ukraine(Chertkovo)-Slovenia-Austria-Switzerland-France-Spain-Portugal(Cabo da Roca)-Spain(Tarifa).
(Which I plan on doing "some time" on motorcycle. )

So, Europe is landfast with Asia, hence Eurasia.
When I was a kid in skoul want we were taught was Eurasia was basically the area that went both ways it wasn't pure Europe and it wasn't pure Asia, I guess you could call it the "t-ain't" of Europe and Asia continents. Cuz, it "t-ain't Asia and t-ain't Europe".

But since those formative and foundation years I actively sought to forget all the geography I ever learned. I feel much better for having done so as had I not, there is no way I could fit all those equations into my brain, it's simply too small, something had to go. First went grammar, then went geography and after that Spanish.

Plus it is simply not fair to keep changing country names and boundaries. I swear sometimes that I miss the good ol' USSR as when they went teats-up geography got a lot harder!! Maybe their final revenge on the rest of the planet. hahaha.

And I stopped learning African countries in the mid-70s because every time I bought a globe or world atlas the danged thing needed replacing or a lot or sticky labels. And it kept getting worse every year. Very inconsiderate of people to keep changing things so often. I say a country with more than one coup every millennium should be find by the UN if they change the name or the borders!!
