Last week I ordered another Polaris 65 pool cleaner. We got one with the pool 12 years ago, but I ragged that one to death and have been cleaning the pool by hand for the past few years. This year I felt lazy, so I ordered another one. In less than two days, all the leaves and crud were gone from the bottom of the pool. It's kind of fun to watch it work.

Here's a video of the Polaris from a Pool Supply store:

We use a cheap, "Barracuda"-like pool-cleaner similar to this:

It mostly does the job, but we have a beach area, and in-pool seats at the "bar" where it can't go, so we still have to manually do that bit (especially when the palms start raining their fruit into it). But we're in there after most bike rides from about mid-spring to mid-autumn, so we just pop the hose off the 'cuda (we call him "Zoidberg") and suck up the debris.

We love Zoidberg. Anything that reduces house maintenance time.

Cheers,
Marc
