I finished Mistress in the Art of Death by Ariana Franklin. It started off slowly but built up over time. Ms Franklin's writing is precise with a little wit. Some good artistry too.
Although it takes place during 12th century Plantagenet England, some liberties were taken regarding medical knowledge of the time. Did "doctors" at the time know that boiling water prevented cholera?

After a library visit I now have three choices for my next read:
The Tripods by John Christopher
Some Danger Involved by Will Thomas
The City & The City by China Mieville
