I don't know about this. Do you recall the T-Mobile G1. They released that phone in 2008. It was fugly in every way, it wasn't until two years later that they released a product that the mainstream public loved.
That's just the Google way. They put out clunky products and continue to develop them until they are great. Yet the whole time they never have press releases nor major updates announcements.
I've yet to see one product where Google released a polished product out the door. Honeycomb is no exception. The only reason why it has gotten such a bad wrap is because of public expectations.
Apple approach is quite different they are very innovated with newly released products, then just drag their feet in developing new features.
Both ways are brilliant Marketing strategies.
