Winter times, we just get sleet instead of hail.

In winter time we just get

sunshine and sometimes a cold wind from the west. Some people in our region may get a frost, but we are too close to the sea.

We don't have any heating in our house, if it gets too cold (<15°C), we turn off the fans and close a few windows. If really cold we put on sox and tracky daks (kitty jamies).
Sleet is something I remember from down south in my younger days. Is it like semi-frozen rain? I remember icy slush too. *shudder*
