I bought the DX because I'm old, can't read small print, and I'd never seen an ereader and was tired of waiting to see one. First, the price difference is not insignificant. The DX is 3.3 times the price of the new $114 K3. The DX is 2.7 times the price of the standard K3 WiFi.
The DX was fine. It was awkward to carry around. Not as bad as an IPad, of course, but not slam dunk convenient, either.
Not surprisingly, three weeks after I got my DX I saw a 6" K2 in the wild. The person let me hold it and I discovered I could read it easily. It was fine. After considering the issue for awhile I ordered a K3 WiFi. I enjoy it. My DX is back in the U.S. with my sister putting it up for sale.
A small detail. The DX was 3G only. For me, 3G is markedly slower than WiFi and where I live it went down more often than my router.
