Kindle 3 or Kindle DX?
I want to upgrade my Kindle 2 to the new pearl e-ink screens. So far, the Kindle has been my favourite among all the devices I've tried, so I'll stick with it. But I'm not sure whether to get the larger screen of the DX or just get a 6" Kindle 3.
I've had a 9.6" irex device and liked the extra space (software was not great though, so I sold it). But since I recently got an iPad, I already have a larger screen reader, which works very well for PDFs and other types of documents that usually requires a large screen - and I don't really expect the Kindle to take its place in that respect.
I plan to use the new Kindle mostly at home - I'd prefer to take the iPad (or iPhone) with me out. And while I don't mind reading books on it, I would prefer to have an e-ink device for that - especially for evening reading, as I have a problem with insomnia and a back-lit screen can disturb the body's sleep rhythms.*
Basically I think it comes down to that the larger screen of the DX would be nice, but it's also more expensive, and I don't really need it. A Kindle 3 wifi would be half the price, lighter to sit with and I can get the lighted cover for it, which is a bonus. What do you think?
