I just thought of another question. I have been accumulating ebooks from Amazon and Barnes and Noble on my PC for a while now. (Free books - some were PD, but some were just free promotions.)
To read the books from BN on my future Kindle, I will need to use Calibre to convert them to mobi format, right? This may be a stupid question, but will Amazon or Kindle have a problem with them or wonder whether they are legit because they are mobi but not purchased from Amazon?
Also, will I be able to sync those books also and have Kindle remember where I left off, even across devices, even though they weren't purchased from Amazon?
Can any text files or PDFs be synced and backed up also?
Sorry if these are stupid questions. I will probably have a better idea how this all works once I get my hands on an actual Kindle.
