On the other hand, I would guess that there are many people who call themselves "Christian" who aren't as easily offended by their reading material.

And your mention of Starship Troopers as a book without an agenda is an example of what I mentioned earlier-- a book with an agenda that you apparently don't notice because you agree with it. SST absolutely had a political agenda.
