Well just a headsup to everyone. I now have my NookColor running perfectly in NZ. It took a bit of 'getting all my ducks in a row' and i was able to Register the machine over WiFi at home once i'd flashed it with the new Ver1.2 software having changed a few parameters on my aged Dl-624+ WiFi router (that kind of thing)... The NookColor is perfect for travel and will come with me on my visits back to the States too..
I can see how the NookColor would be the ultimate use weapon for any American Mom who love to read and i can so see what Barnes & Noble are offering as a tool that covers not only books but magazines and newspapers to fill that need.
For me as an electronics tech bloke, the next stage will be to Root it so as to run Android Honeycomb on it (so i can learn about this System without the massive outlay for say a Motorola Xoom, similar to my reason to already owning an iPad and an iPhone4 plus MacBooks and multiple PCs). In the meantime i'll enjoy reading a few books and the two purchases I've already made on how to write software for iPhone4 and iPad Apps. NookColor = brilliant, you just need to really know what you are doing to set it up and running plus a bit of patience...
