You are absolutely correct, and I still buy almost all of my footnote/endnote heavy books as printed material. When I had a Sony reader I would license them, but not anymore. Even on the Sony with its touch screen interface it still wasn't as intuitive as a book with footnotes/endnotes. Simple as that.

Oh well, it's coming along, hopefully someone figures out how to make it work better/more imitative or they figure out a new paradigm.
