As for Calibre. Unfortunately, I am not sure at what version it stopped working. Unfortunately I downloaded and updated calibre several times without checking full functionality, as it has never caused me problems in the past. However, I have tried removing and reinstalling all the way back to 7.37 , and all versions in between up to 7.57..

Rolling back that many versions is not a good idea.
There are DB structural changes that might get in the way of functioning
You might have to 'rebuild the library' from the command line. Kovid or the 'dev' crew can confirm.
