A long LONG time ago, I took a B&W photography class at the local college. The professor tried to encourage us to see the world in VALUE instead of COLOR. He said something to the effect that "color is almost vulgar in it's flamboyance" - IDK, it just stuck with me. I don't do any B&W photography now, but I absolutely love to look at really good B&W photos, ink drawings, monochromatic paintings.

And when I want to relax, I want to look at a soothing B&W page of text - not a jumpy, flashy, ad-laden LCD screen (my computer).
