I've had the Wiz series on my HDD for a long while not but never have started them. I might have to do just that over the weekend. I like my Fantasy SF to be light hearted and sort of breezy. I enjoyed the Harold Shea stories by L. Sprague de Camp and sense those are similar to The Wiz stories though obviously different.
Thanks for the thread...oh, I've started the Honorverse stories a few times now but just haven't felt like concentrating as much as they need to fully enjoy them. I've been in that sort of a reading funk the past few years preferring instead to listen to Audible versions. I know that makes me not much of a reader!!
Oh, if you enjoy the Honorverse and haven't tried the John Grimes Rim Worlds/Far Traveler series by A. Bertram Chandler, I recommend them a lot. I read them as a teen and was totally drawn in to the stories. I remember them as very character driven and not too heavy on the details like modern MilSF can often be. They are lighter reads and not long so knocking them out in a week or two is very possible. They are, of course, all to be had on Baen.
BTW, I too won't read the Book Club this month if it's 1984 as I have read it a dozen times or more in my life already. To me it's done and done to death so I likely won't read it again before I croak.
