I don't see how that could possibly make a difference since I don't have the Wi-Fi version. Maybe I have an ultra special edition magical Kobo that psychically ties into ADE!

I can try borrowing the book again and see if that helps... although that's probably what started this mess in the first place. I had to download the book multiple times because the file kept getting corrupted (or something). ADE didn't want to recognize it for some reason (it always worked fine on my Kobo, though).

EDIT: Nope, that didn't work. I still keep getting the same message, even when the book is actually open in ADE! Deleting the book doesn't make any difference, either. It's almost as if ADE is looking for a different title. Maybe I got a different e-book because the library has multiple copies. Would that make a difference, though?

EDIT AGAIN: Unbelievable! I removed the "manifest" and "import" files and tried starting ADE again. It generated new copies of both files... but it's still looking for that stupid book! What the heck?!
