We used this on top of the dryer - which sits just inside the back door - to try & dissuade Sammy cat from waiting there and trying to jump out the back door. She learned to drag clothes from on top of the washer onto the dryer so that she could comfortably stand on the mat. Now it doesn't bother her at all either.
