I love my iPad, but hate iTunes! As an IT guy, I believe and I'am aware of other alternatives that Apple can use but because they refuse or don't want, drives me crazy. However, bought the iPad because like the device. I wanted a color device for magazines, games and sporadic ereader... so far I think the iPad is the only one which can fit the bill.
