Hi Paola!

The warranty in the box is a "shortened" version and says that the full text is online at pocketbook-usa.com where I did not find it. Also, the warranty in the box also has formulations like "not covered under the guarantee is "mechanical damage" broken display, case, memory card, card reader, etc." but what the "etc" is is unclear, other mechanical parts I suppose. But how can a manufacturer proudly display a 2 year guarantee on everything but the mechanical parts?! Do they mean that they guarantee only FBreader and the Linux kernel?!

Yes, I can confirm that. I gave my daughter another ebook reader, not a Pocketbook, whose screen cracked and Amazon did exchange it even though the bloody seller refused to do so and the manufacturer (Ematic - which should be re-named "Emetic") did not even return my emails. Amazon is very good about that, although to be really safe I recommend you purchase stuff from them rather than from other sellers through their marketplace. In the latter case the A-Z guarantee also works, but it is harder in some cases.

Kind regards ,

Farhad
