The mobile OS's need another year or two before they will be really useful as computing devices -- and by that time Windows 8 should be up and running. I wanted a smaller device to use around the house and when traveling. So I finally decided on a Windows 7 tablet.

I moved from years of being an avid Windows Mobile user to an original Palm Pre. I loved WebOS and still think it’s superior to any other mobile OS I’ve seen so far. My issue with the Palm was the lousy build quality of the Pre and the toybox apps library that was available at the time. I soon moved to a Samsung Moment Android phone, (and then to my current HTC EVO 4G) and while I believe WebOS is the superior linux based mobile OS, Android was OK, and more customizable due to the plethora of apps available.
Since HP bought Palm, I have not ventured back into that arena, but from what I’ve read in the blogs the build quality has improved; but the app library, not so much. I’m still keeping my eye on it.
