I think RIM would be getting a lot less flak if they'd just said 'Hey, we're making a tablet for Blackberry business users that fits right into your corporate IT structure and doesn't require any more support than the BB phones you already have' - instead of which they seem to be trying to pitch it as a catch-all, do-everything wonder-tablet that tries to satisfy consumers and business alike, and struggles on both fronts.

Andy Ihnatko at the Chicago Sun-Times has had high hopes for the Playbook since it was announced, and writes a pretty fair Playbook non-review ("I hesitate to formally review the PlayBook because it doesn’t appear to be truly finished yet…") here; he also covers the LG G-Slate too.

Worth a read.
