I remember you told us once that you don't like tea strainers because you cannot stand the taste of washing liquid after you rinse the strainer.
I didn't understand it. I believe I would pick up any chemical taste in a tea if the strainer had it and I have a sensitive nose so I would smell it before brewing a tea.
A week ago my wife put our strainers into a dishwasher.
They came out like a new. However, the smell! I could not stand it! The strainers reeked with the dish washing liquid! Horrible
I had to wash them again manually, thoroughly, with a sponge and a standard dish washing liquid - Fairy, that I use for the last 10 years. It took care of the problem.

I thought that maybe you have been using a certain dish washing liquid that caused the after taste in your tea.
