We run in different circles. Amongst the developers that I associate with there is a definite inconsistency, rooted in anti-Apple emotions. I'm not fond of Apple for very tangible reasons... they charge $100 a year for developers and require that fee for anyone who wants to develop apps for their own iOS-based devices. (jailbreaking aside)
Android development is free and much more open.
