There's plenty of anti-Apple bigots here too... who have been emotionally scarred by Apple and must inject their anti-Apple feelings into every thread.

This thread is about the RIM Playbook. There are some important take-aways from RIM's decision to release a half-baked Playbook at this time. What is going on in the consumer tablet market that forced RIM's hand? Why are companies who had been designing their tablet offerings for a few years prior, announced their plans in early 2010 but then ended up scrapping them in light of the iPad's debut... and still haven't produced a solid viable alternative... a year later? Why are the sample people who dismissed the iPad as nothing more than an oversized iPod now clamoring for tablets that are nothing more than oversized Android handsets?

Why were these companies caught so flat-footed?

You and everyone else who will claim that it is Apple's pixie dust sprinkled on lemming consumers can refrain from replying.
