Chapman, Allen: The Radio Boys' First Wireless. v1, 18 Feb 2008
Juvenile fiction from 1922. The type of boys' fiction that was popular at the time, combining an exciting adventure with practical instruction in how to do something (in this case, building a crystal radio set).
This was the first in a series of 13 books, but appears to be the only one currently available as an eBook. The series was taking advantage of a sudden explosion of interest in radio broadcasting which occurred in the US from 1922 onwards.
Each book features a foreword from "noted radio expert Jack Binns" who achieved fame as the "wireless operator" on the sinking "S.S. Republic" by sending the first ever radio distress signal which triggered a rescue operation.
Enjoy!
