That's my Thailand experience too, (and one of the reasons I got a Sony). The bookshops seem to have a limited range.

And what's the idea of sealing the books up in plastic? Gee, that's annoying.

Also, the postal service is a bit dodgy - so ordering paper books from folks like Amazon is a risk. With a Sony and the internet your reading world is opened up quite a bit.

Off topic: if you're into "Dengue Fever", (the Khmer/US band not the disease), Amazon just emailed me that they have a new cd out.
