Andre Norton
I think that the fantasies of Andre Norton are well worth exploring. The "Witch World" cycle is excellent. The core books in the series are published in two volumes:
Annals of the Witch World comprising three novels:
Witch World: The book which introduces the Witch World universe
Web of the Witch World is a direct sequel to the above and comparable to it in quality
Year of the Unicorn is set in a different part of the same world but concerns different characters. It is really excellent--perhaps better than the first two books.
Chronicles of the Witch World is a linked sequence dealing with the off spring of the main characters in the first two books above. The individual volumes in reading sequence are:
Three Against the Witch World
Warlock of the Witch World
Sorceress of the Witch World
Norton was an excellent writer who could create a psychological depth in her main characters. Amazon have some of her other works available at quite reasonable prices and one can download her main public domain novels free of charge from Project Gutenberg. I have most of her material in hard copy, including the two volumes above. I imagine they are available in e-book format too.
