If there is a part of the market that is under-served it is competition for the iPod Touch... which makes up a significant portion of iOS sales.
Unlikely, but gimme feature and price parity device with the iPod Touch (ok...a slightly bigger screen  ) and the always on 3G of the Kindle 3G and I'd buy one tomorrow.

You might want to keep an eye on Samsung, they are releasing a 4" and 5" Super AMOLED device this summer that is geared to go head to head with the iPod Touch.

Speed to enter a new space. They might not have the Android expertise and tablet expertise to enter this space in a timly manner. Partnering up with sombody who does will allow them to enter this space running.
