Those are a result of poor ligature conversion, if I'm not mistaken. When you convert your PDFs to ePub files, there should be a screen in Calibre with all sorts of options. On the left side there are tabs, sort of-- if you click "Look and Feel" there will be an option on that screen to "keep ligatures". I would try reconverting one of the problem PDFs with that box checked and see if that helps.


Am I the only one who checks out library books directly from her library page? The reader store doesn't have built in support of my library though.

Also, aren't the notes just XML files with weird extensions? It looks like all you lose are line breaks if you open it as an XML file. I suppose that would inconvenience people, but I doubt anyone's writing their great american classic in the notebooks.

Or did you mean like, notes in the books themselves? (If so, how <i>do</i> you access those? I need to write a literary analysis of the Tempest like, tomorrow, and all my notes are in my reader. TRAPPED. FOREVER.)
