Since I share that aversion, I'll throw out a few for you.

Mort (by Rod Redux) - great story but a little sick and twisted

Zombie Betrayal (Robert Decoteau) - very short but interesting

The Last Mailman - one of my favorites, but it vanished from sales recently (?)

Eaters: The Beginning (Michele DePape) - classic zombie tale, short story

Extinction Theory (Lee Emerick) - different twist on the infection type

Last, but not least, my work--Zombified--which is available from Amazon and Smashwords (links in signature).

All of the above are 3rd person without journal entries or other stylized methods of writing.

Enjoy!
