I am pleased to read that you are the owner of a PRS-600 and I am sorry to read of the difficulties you are having.
I have investigated into this query further and I regret to inform you that the Sony 16GB Memory Stick Pro Duo Magic Gate Mark 2 is not compatible with the PRS-600 as states on page 33 of your manual please find link below:
