I've just finished the second one (Maelstrom) which is even better than the first, but I think I need to read something light and fluffy before I tackle volume three; I can only take so much unrelieved grimness, particularly when it's all so obviously extrapolated from present trends. Reminds me of John Brunner's dystopias.
