I will admit that some DRM schemes are less bad than others. DRM schemes that don't require central authorisation to enable access on a new licensed device are not as bad as ones that do.

But really, it is black and white. There's nothing you can do to encrypting DRM schemes to make them acceptable.

DRM doesn't prevent large scale piracy
DRM does cause inconvenience (at least) to customers
DRM does cost publishers real money.
