To compare models whose release dates differ on a year is not exactly fair play, but it shows your attitude quite efficiently.
As the current reader generation was delivered at the same time and has the same screen their page turn speed is the same, their readability is alike and they differ in the button vs. touchscreen technology. While the Kindle has 4GB internal memory as opposed to the Sonys 2 GB the Sony PRS 650 (and that is the one that you have to compare to the K3 as they are both 6inchers released at the same time) takes SD cards up to 32GB.
If we do a comparison of the K2 that'd be the one you'd have to hold up against your PRS 600, it won't look any better for the Kindle.
